Angus MacDonald
Founder & Director
Angus founded GPG as part of a wider drive towards reduction of carbon. The biofuel engines save 3,000 tons per year per MW and have the potential to become one of the most cost effective and consistent year-round sources of behind the meter renewable generation. The fuel brings the double benefit of recycling waste bio products and avoiding the use of fossil fuel.
Prior to GPG, Angus was the founder of British Solar Renewables and responsible for delivering over 600MW of solar in the UK over a 5-year period. The renewable energy business was born out of running a property business that has created over 1,000 new homes.
Previous to this, Angus had a career in aviation including naval helicopters for 8 years, flying for the film industry for 4 years and passenger jets for 8 years with British Airways. He lives on an arable farm in Somerset with his wife and four children. His interests include the farm, skiing, riding, shooting, boating and trying to reverse climate change - all of which are immensely improved when being done with the children. He is also a Trustee for the Gladys Cobham Trust.

Clive Cosby
Senior Project Manager
Clive joined GPG following five years of utility-scale solar delivery, (working with Angus and Iain) he oversaw the build of the biggest grid-connected UK parks before the end of the home solar cycle, before he moved to an international developer. Based in Asia, he then brought the first solar park to site in Myanmar, delivering 50mw to an island grid infrastructure, where it was very much a case of familiar subject matter, extra-ordinary circumstances, in a region where most live without power, outages are the daily norm and everything about the project was pioneering.
More recently, he worked in Iberia delivering sites in Portugal where the scale of delivering hundreds of mega-watts was a welcome challenge, connecting sites to operate under the highest irradiance levels in Europe. Prior to working in renewable energy, Clive worked in the marine industry as a professional yacht skipper, racing around the world, refitting yachts for expeditions and running a global research vessel. Researching plastic pollution across our global oceans, a decade before the issue was widely understood or spoken about was a revelation to Clive and pioneering work; bringing the subject to people’s attention and opening his eyes to the scale of the challenge we now face from the legacy of our unsustainable, single-use and wasteful culture.
With a degree in surveying, followed by a career in sales he also spent several years delivering learning and development interventions to corporate audiences globally, a mixed portfolio. For now, renewable energy and new technology opportunities are a strong focus, until perhaps a new sailing opportunity comes along. He is glad to be working with GPG on the solutions side of our environmental challenges; combining passions, helping implement change to manmade environmental issues and despite the weather, glad to be back working in the UK again.
